Overview

As a non-cost recovery business, Johannesburg City Parks is faced with financial constraints and increasing demand for improved serves. JCP has a backlog of developing about 3177.17 hectares of undeveloped parks whilst continuing to maintaining over 5000 hectares of developed parks. As an environmental company of the city of Johannesburg it has to create environmental awareness in schools and communities, and also develop inclusivity in open spaces through such activities as International Day of Disabled. JCP undertook to develop these specific projects to respond creatively to the pressure placed by growing urbanization and the need for urban green rehabilitation. We intend to bridge the greening divide between disadvantaged townships and the suburbs.

Despite our limited resources, we are committed to upholding and maintaining the City of Johannesburg ‘green crown’ for being one of the greenest cities in the world. As a company that is mandated to develop and manage an enormous portfolio of parks, green open spaces, conserved areas and cemeteries, we are able to harness our potential for creating mutually
beneficial partnerships and due recognition for donors. Johannesburg. This section provides companies/organizations with excellent opportunities to participate in the greening of the city.
