The cutting of grass on tarred pavements, stormwater-catchment areas and municipal roads is the responsibility of Johannesburg Roads Agency.
The cutting of grass on provincial and national roads is the responsibility of Gautrans of the National Roads Agency.
Public sporting facilities fall under regional Johannesburg Sports Departments.
Private vacant stands are the responsibility of the landowner.
Abandoned private or business stands fall under regional environmental health departments.
Sub-stations or power stations fall under City Power or Eskom.
Vacant Eskom, Transnet or local council housing land falls under the relevant departments that own the land.
