About Johannesburg City Parks´ Customer Care Centre
Service delivery to all our customers in Johannesburg City Parks (JCP) is top priority. For this reason, a call centre has been established to ensure that all complaints and requests are dealt with efficiently and professionally, and that these are addressed promptly. JCP’s Customer Care Centre is linked to the City of Johannesburg’s Call Centre, Joburg Connect.
Joburg Connect provides 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week, and 365-days-a-year service to residents of the City of Johannesburg. Residents only need to remember one telephone number - 011 375-5555 - and follow the easy steps.

What complaints are for JCP’s attention?
Grass that needs to be cut on pavements and sidewalks.
All park-related problems: eg. illegal dumping in parks, squatters, vagrants, broken equipment and fences, long grass, lack of maintenance, or anything else that needs attention in a park.
Street tree problems: branches that need to be trimmed or pruned, branches overhanging streets, dead trees, trees about to fall into a street or property or anything else related to street trees.
Any problems in cemeteries, eg sunken graves, lack of maintenance, vandalism, long grass, etc.
Nature reserves and river trails: fire, grass-cutting requests, etc.
- About street trees: Johannesburg is one of the cities in the world with the largest number of street trees, (1,3 million), therefore many of our complaints and requests are about street trees.
Residents must remember that trees in private properties (residential or business) are not JCP’s responsibility. JCP only takes care of trees on pavements.
Street trees cannot just be removed at residents’ request until an investigation has been conducted. Trees play a vital role in the ecology. If a resident wants a tree removed, a request must be put in writing, setting out the exact location of the tree and reasons for the request. JCP will then investigate the matter and reply to the resident in writing. The removal of a tree may have financial implications for the resident.
