The Voluntary Mounted River Rangers patrol riverine trails and parks on horseback. Their function covers a broad spectrum of activity which includes conservation, upliftment, security, education and eco-tourism. A true “Urban Safari” experience.

Environmental Conservation Development (ECD) of Johannesburg City Parks (JCP), envisages a network of trails over the entire metro area, serviced by rangers, operating out of bases situated on council-owned land.
