HIV Programme
We acknowledge the fact that HIV affects us in the company.
In response to the identified problem of HIV prevalence in the company we have implemented education awareness and treatment promotion campaigns

Our HIV/AIDS Policy promotes among others
• Respect for infected and affected employees.
• Encourages disclosure.
• Promotes Voluntary Counseling and Testing.
• Discourages stigmatization.
• Knowing your status and living positively.
• Care and support for infected employees.

Condom Awareness Week

This is one campaign that we adopted to include as part of our campaign to promote abstinence, faithfulness and prevention.

Peer Educators Forum

In 2003 we started a Peer Educators Forum to facilitate the education, and awareness campaign, and to give support to infected employees in the workplace.

JCP will remember them!

A Garden of Remembrance – in memory of those who died of HIV/Aids – was launched at JCP’s Wellness Centre at the end of 2003.

World Aids Day brings JCP to a standstill!

JCP commemorated World Aids Day with an Aids Prayer Meeting held at JCP’s Head Office on 1 December. For a few minutes, work was set aside to think about those infected and affected by HIV Aids.
